The Maddux Family Heads West
William Dawson Maddux and his family make the 33-day wagon journey from Menard, Texas, to Douglas, Arizona, establishing roots that would shape generations to come.
A Business Takes Shape
W.D. Maddux and his sons begin hauling brick, gravel and other materials from their family property on E Avenue in Douglas, helping supply the growing community.
Maddux & Sons Is Born
W.D. Maddux and his sons Reese and Claiborne officially establish Maddux & Sons, building a family business founded on hard work, dependable service and lasting relationships.
The Next Generation Steps In
After serving in the Navy, Leonard R. Maddux returns to Douglas to work alongside his father, Reese, eventually taking over leadership of the company in the early 1980s.
Building for the Future
Maddux & Sons officially incorporates, marking another step in the company's growth as a trusted supplier of construction materials throughout the region.
A Major Hauling Opportunity
A contract hauling lime for Phelps Dodge opens the door to decades of growth, expanding Maddux's hauling operations across major mining facilities in Arizona and New Mexico.
Concrete Foundations for Growth
Maddux & Sons supplies concrete for the Raul H. Castro Land Port of Entry project, helping establish the company as a major ready-mix concrete producer in the region.
Supporting Border Infrastructure
From early Border Patrol projects to large-scale border infrastructure construction, Maddux & Sons supplies concrete and materials for projects across southeastern Arizona.
The Fourth Generation Takes the Lead
Following the passing of Leonard Maddux, brothers Clint and Jimmy Maddux take over leadership, continuing the family legacy they had been part of since their teenage years.
A New Legacy of Ownership
Maddux & Sons joins Blue Diamond Legacy Holdings, becoming 100% Employee Owned and carrying four generations of family-built tradition into a new era of shared ownership.
